How to reset Password

Whether you’ve forgotten your password or need to change it for security reasons, the process can be simple with the right guidance. This guide will walk you through the steps to reset your Hikvision device password, offering different methods based on your specific device model. Please note that not all methods are suitable for every Hikvision device, so it’s crucial to identify the appropriate method for your device. Self-service password reset
Via account verification
Step 1: Go to the “Forget Password” page and select “Verify by Hik-Connect App.”
Step 2: Proceed to log in to the Hik-Connect or Hik-Partner Pro account that your device is tied to, and scan the QR code on your device, then you will get a verification code.
Step 3: Enter the verification code.
Step 4: Create a new password.
Via reserved email
1: Go to the “Forget Password” page and select the reserved email.
2: Proceed to log in to the Hik-Connect or Hik-Partner Pro account that your device is tied to, and scan the QR code on the password reset page. You will then receive a verification code.
3: Enter the received code and create a new password.
Via security questions
Step 1: Go to the “Forget Password” page and select a preset security question.
Step 2: Enter the correct answer.
Step 3: Create a new password.
Via GUID file
Step 1: Go to the “Forget Password” page and select “GUID File Verification” from the drop-down list.
Step 2: Import the GUID file.
Step 3: Create a new password.
Password reset through XML file
The Hikvision devices and laptop/PC must be on the same network.
1: Export the XML file (Using SDAP), QR code, or password reset string of the device(s).
2: Send the XML file, QR code, or password reset string, along with the device label snapshot, to the Hikvision support team and wait for a reply.
3: Enter the code or import the XML file you receive from Hikvision.
4: Create a new password.
